That was true until the mid-1970s, but then something happened - Linz changed. On this tour you will discover the history of Linz since the original Celtic settlement, how important trade was and is, why Linz was once more important to Austria than Vienna, the oldest documented amputation in the world, the oldest cake recipe in the world, named after a place who wrote some amazing planetary laws here who went to school here and what he did on the main square in 1938, why is Linz called the Steel City who was here in the second world war, and much more. The tour leads from the main square to the castle, before returning to the Landhaus and ending at Austria's largest church. The tour will be done in English by a native speaker.
